Billings Highgate is proud to offer seniors a uniquely elegant residential community. Highgate is a beautiful "Manor House" ideally located with shopping, banking and a community all within walking distance. It is also close to hospitals and medical clinics.
Beautiful architecture and landscaping are combined to create the magic that is this magnificent home. A curved driveway leads to the main entry under a Porte Cochere to keep you shaded or dry as you are dropped off at the front door. Comfortable chairs on the front porch are the ideal venue for watching the comings and goings of the day.
Inside, there is a two-story foyer accented in lightly stained maple that is as warm and inviting as a country inn. You are welcome to relax by the fireplace in the lobby living room, or join family or friends for coffee in the adjacent Rimrock Cafe. Attached to
the Cafe is an activity kitchen where you can come at any time to bake cookies or join in an ice cream social. We throw birthday parties here, and serve fresh-baked cookies in the afternoons. There is an outdoor patio just off the kitchen where on hot summer days we'll barbecue burgers and sit outside under the shade of the extra large market umbrellas.
Then there's the Shiloh Mercantile, located right in The Manor. It's open daily for small incidentals - the items that are most frequently requested by our residents. These may include things such as: greeting cards, small gifts for visiting grandchildren or great-grandchildren, gift wrap, camera film, batteries, toothpaste, toilet paper, ice-cream bars, candy, milk and butter.
The library facing the grand courtyard has large picture windows that invite the outside in. Comfortable chairs, stately furnishings and good reading lights allow you to enjoy the excellent collection of large-print books that Highgate provides. You are also welcome to add some of your own favorite books to the library collection to share with other residents. There is a computer in the library so residents can pick up email messages from family and friends - and send a message back.
If you're not familiar with the Internet and e-mail, our Activity Director can assist you. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in our beautiful full-service Dining Room. Come and sit by the fireplace or find your place by the window in this warm wood-paneled dining room. And on special occasions you can enjoy the music being played on the grand piano. We also have tables specifically designed for those in wheelchairs, with lots of elbow room and appropriate table height.
We provide a continuum of care that can accommodate changing needs of a resident:
- Catered Living for residents wanting minimal or intermittent assistance
- Assisted Living for those needing help with activities of daily living and limited nursing services
- Enhanced Care for the declining senior needing full assistance and support
- Our "Early Stage Memory Care Program" gives peace of mind knowing that a resident with diminished mental awareness will receive loving attention and reassurance.
- Our secure Memory Care Cottage provides loving individualized care in a safe, homelike environment for seniors afflicted with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia
Activities Designed for All Interests
Our bus is available to take residents to medical appointments or shopping. Also, we have scheduled outings to many community activities -- baseball games at Cobb Field, outside summer concerts, trips to Red Lodge, trips to the Alberta Bair Theatre for performances, to name a few.
Activities and Programming
In the TV lounge you can watch your favorite shows with friends. A separate art deco style Movie Theater is located on the second floor. Here we hold movie nights on our large screen TV complete with hot buttered popcorn fresh from our old-fashioned popcorn stand. This room is also used as a Bingo Hall and the play can get fast and furious!
There's a full service Hair Salon with a professional barber and hair stylist.
A laundry room is located on both the first and second floors with free washers and dryers for our Assisted Living residents to use at any time. (Note: Our third floor apartments each have their own laundry area in their suite.) Each laundry room also has an iron and an ironing board set up at all times, and a table area for folding laundry.
There are two Spa Tub rooms, each with their own unique features. So, if your muscles are aching and you want a Spa bath, our easy-entry Whirl-tub is available for you with assistance by our staff. Or if you just want to soak in a deep bubble bath, we have a corner soaker tub in a beautifully appointed Spa-like setting.
The Wellness Room is outfitted with some fitness equipment and a Physical Therapy area. So you
don't even have to leave the building if you are working with a Physical Therapist! Our Activity Director will also assist you in fitness activities here. We plan events for every taste!
