Walk into Highgate and you’ll discover what senior living should be like. Friends chat over cards and coffee. A care partner and resident share a private joke. You catch a glorious whiff of fresh herbs and garlic wafting from the kitchen. A small group is being shown how to use an iPad. A smiling couple stroll in from the courtyard. A family visits near the warmth of a large stone fireplace.
It is beautiful and homelike. You can imagine yourself relaxing in that comfy chair, reading a book or listening in as those ladies swap stories. There is a sense of companionship and compassion and joy in the air. You can see being happy here.
At Highgate, we really get to know our residents – their stories, their families, their interests and their passions – so that we can support every individual in living a meaningful and fulfilling life.
We encourage independence, but provide full care for all – singles, couples, those with low needs or those who are highly dependent. Our team of clinical professionals are trained to handle almost anything, from a simple mishap to complex medical issues, including severe cognitive impairment.
And to give residents the comfort of not having to constantly adjust to new caregivers all the time, we schedule a preferred care partner to the same group of residents every day that he or she works. On their days off, the same person covers their group. This helps create a deep understanding of each resident’s needs and wants, inspires confidence and forms an invaluable bond of trust and caring.
Finding ways each day to keep our residents mentally, physically and socially engaged is our mission, as we advocate for a holistic approach to every aspect of their well-being.
With five senior living options to choose from – Assisted Living, Memory Care, Guided Independence and Respite Stays – as well as Independent Living at a few of our buildings – you should have no problem finding the perfect place for yourself or your loved one.
