qualify for the Aid & Attendance Program and receive monthly benefits to help cover
the costs of assisted living care. What is Aid & Attendance? Aid & Attendance is a Federal benefit that was added onto a need-based pension
offered through The Department of Veteran Affairs. It provides benefits for veterans
and surviving spouses who need assistance with their activities of daily living
and meet specific requirements. Care provided in an assisting living facility qualifies. How do you qualify for the benefit?
The 2009 monthly Aid & Attendance rates are as follows*:
Surviving Spouse $1,056 Healthy Veteran with Sick Spouse $1,291 Single Veteran $1,644 Sick Veteran with Spouse $1,949 *5.8 increase from 2008 Learn more. Call your local Highgate community.
